Once owned by the Teas Nursery family of Texas, TeasWood has historical roots anchored by generations-old stands of hardwoods, crepe myrtle's, pines and dogwoods.

Even before the Texas family purchased the property in 1910, it had its own rail system.
Thirteen miles of track were laid down by a logging company to ship their logs to a sawmill in New Waverly.
The Teas family used the track to ride herd on their nursery until World War II when they pulled up the rails and donated them to the war effort.

Though the rails are gone, you can still see the rail bed on the fringes of TeasWood where residents can hike and bike.
